~~ DESPERADO ~~

This is dedicated to my husband, Johnny. Whom I called my "little Desperado".

Nov. 22, 1985-Nov. 22, 2006

(May be a bit slow: patience please)

Desperado,
why don't you come to your senses?
You been out ridin' fences for so long now.
Oh, you're a hard one,
I know that you got your reasons.
These things that are pleasin' you
can hurt you somehow.

Don't you draw the queen of diamonds, Boy,
she'll beat you if she's able,
you know the queen of hearts is always
your best bet.
Now it seems to me, some fine things
have been laid upon your table,
but you only want the ones that you
can't get.

Desperado,
oh, you ain't gettin' no younger;
your pain and your hunger, they're drivin'
you home.
And freedom, oh freedom well, that's just
some people talkin';
your prison is walking through this
world all alone.
Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine;
it's hard to tell the nighttime from the day.
You're losin' all your highs and lows,
ain't it funny how the feeling goes away?

Desperado,
why don't you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate.
It may be rainin', but there's a
rainbow above you.
You better let somebody love you, before
it's too late

Through the past 20 years with Johnny. My life's love, my heart, my soul mate, my forever love.

My "little Desperado", when we met over 20 years ago. I will always love you. Katie

How Do I Love Thee

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.

I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.

I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old grief's, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! And, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
