I told my friend: Oh yes I remember when Mother went to be with JESUS. We moved to Connecticut (she had John promise her to go be with his Mom who was in a nursing home with Multiple Sclerosis) and then on to Vermont. After over 1 and 1/2 years I went back home and it was still so hard as the places we went grocery shopping, clothes shopping, and going to yard sales and all that, it about killed me! So I tried to stay away from different places but so many of the roads led to the same place...her home...it was so hard. After nearly 7 or 8 more years, I moved to Ohio and we were there for about 4 years we moved here and have been here for over 5 years now. I want to go back home so bad and see things. My daughter and the four grandkids are there and my brother and so many relatives, but so are the graves of my parents. And I haven't been to see my son's grave since May of 2000. They are not there I know, but the pain that sears through my guts, will bring me to my knees as I look at his name again on that Marker and that is so hard for me. Will be 20 years Oct. 7 and I feel it even without knowing the date or time. It is like an alarm clock that is set to go off every year as it approaches. His clock and Mother's clock. Ticking and tocking as the time of the dates of their graduation from life unto life, Oct. 7th and Nov. 11th. Many years wanting to "call them" to see why they have not kept in touch? No letters, no calls, no cards. Funny the mind has cushioned the pain over the years, but still it will trick itself into believing that they are away and have just forgotten to contact me. So yes it has been awhile, but the mind and heart know no time on these two loved ones that were taken from my life. Have a really blessed weekend! Love, Katie
